IEC Registration
IEC is nothing but the Import Export Code certificate. It comes under The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Department of Commerce, Government of India. Importer Exporter code is 10-digit unique mandatory license for the business or the companies who deals with the import export activities in India.
The IEC code is one of the mandatory compliances and if there is a miss match of the details in the DGFT may cause penalties or even the cancellation of the business license. It also helps the importer to clear the custom, shipment and transfer money to the foreign banks. In a simple way no importer/ exporter can do the business in India without the IEC.
